cancelled party leftovers...

My lil' sis just had a birthday. {She's 27, again...wink, wink.} We had planned to throw her a party but, being the sweetheart that she is, she insisted on canceling...she was loving me. She is good at loving me.

I love her.

With a last minute party cancellation, there was some fab food at risk of spoiling. So...on Sunday we feasted: egg bake, pear tart, banana pancakes, homemade whip cream, fresh strawberries, caramelized bananas, & chopped pecans...YUMMY! You should know that all of the yumminess is credited to my mother. {Someone else who is good at loving me} All I did was set the table.

Brunch was followed by boys and men in the backyard working on their baseball skills. The season is just about to start...and we have 3 boys playing this year. I am giddy with excitement {and slightly nervous} for their first games. So far they've only played sports that I'm familiar with and am able to enjoy with them in the yard...Lord help me if anyone decides to play football. {YIKES!}

Sigh...

I'm not trying to pretend this weekend wasn't hard. It was. So was yesterday and so is today.
But...it's not all hard. There has been lots of happy.
Happy, that I don't want to forget...so blog away I shall. I don't want to get lost in the sad. I want to live in my blessings.

Tomorrow I will be sharing a video I recorded this weekend...a song, that has been running through my head since wednesday afternoon...it has helped...maybe it will help someone else too.
